Hmmmmm…..

Day one of the NAIA Region III volleyball tournament. Strange, unpredictable….you name it, we’ve had it.

Dordt started the day knocking off Northwestern 3-1 in the first match of the day. Dordt looked dead in the water, lost game one 30-20, down 18-11 in game two. Came roaring back, won game two and then swept games three and four. Balanced Dordt attack offset Megan Meyer’s 28 kills for NW. Kristin De Ronde 16 kills, 14 each for Larissa Veldhuizen and Kendra Potgeter. 48 assists for Emily Van Voorst and Liz Van Voorst filled in for Autumn VandeKamp who was ill most of the week. Dickinson State is next for the Defenders. This simple….if Dordt beats Dickinson State they’ll be in the title match at 7:00. If they lose we become NW fans hoping the Red and White can beat Dickinson and force a three-way tie in the pool and gather everyone together for some tie breakers on Saturday morning.

Second match. Morningside comes in kicks Hastings around for two games, then a strange thing happens–Hastings plays like they have nothing to lose and squeek out a game three win, then win another and then take game five 15-10. That’s the unpredictable part…

Broadcast coming up in about 15 minutes…better run…
